Verve Wellness is a full-service wellness center located in a renovated 100-year-old building on Sixth Street in downtown Pittsburgh.
The center offers nutritional counseling, Yoga and Pilates classes, chiropractic care, massage therapy, and salon services.
Impact Story
As Pittsburgh’s downtown community faces the daily stresses of traffic, heavy workloads, and city life, owners Micah Grubbs and Aubre Stacknick founded Verve 360 to offer a stress-free space for downtown residents, guests, and commuters.
“Each day, there are more than 140,000 people within a 10-minute walk of our business,” Grubbs said. “This is where the action was, and no one else was offering our unique set of services.”
Bridgeway Capital financed Verve’s start-up costs and a first-floor remodel to give the center a street-level presence. The first floor’s salon employees provide manicures, pedicures, and hairstyling services and invite customers to experience the center’s other offerings. So far, Verve has seen a four-fold increase in the number of patrons who frequent the center.
“Without Bridgeway, we would never have even gotten off the ground,” Grubbs said. “Aubre and I are not wealthy people by any means, and we needed a small amount of seed capital to get rolling. Bridgeway took a chance and financed us.”
Economic Impact
- Offering salon services will expand Verve’s market and bring in additional revenue.
- Six jobs were created through the financing of the center’s lower-level renovations.
