Helping businesses build healthier communities and increase access to nutritious food.
Andrea Barber, owner of INNERgy Vending, wanted to start a vending machine company to offer nutritious options in communities that lack access to healthy foods. Bridgeway’s Healthy Food Access Program worked with INNERgy Vending to grow the business from one gumball machine to six full-scale, digital vending machines that provide healthy snack options. The vending machines are placed at community centers in Pittsburgh’s food-insecure neighborhoods of Larimer and Garfield. Andrea Barber is fulfilling her dream of building a business, creating healthier communities, and providing a better future for her three sons.
