Peggy Rau is the majority owner of Lite Fibers LLC, on Marion Avenue in Ellwood City.

Rau and her husband, Bob, formed their company in 2005, and in 2006, they bought the Hercuflex trade name, product and intellectual product from PPG Industries.

Hercuflex fiberglass is used as reinforcement for fiber-optic telecommunications drop wires and cables. It is also being considered for such applications as ropes, hoses, scrims, belts and tension support structures.

"We are always working on developing new products using some of the technology we have and working with new ideas and new ways of doing things," Peggy Rau said.
