$1.7 million from CL Fund's Green Building Loan fund – the largest loan in CL Fund's history – was contributed to the Eastside project.  This loan and assistance from other organizations helped the Borders building in Eastside achieve LEED Gold certification. 

Building C—the Borders Books building in the Eastside retail development in East Liberty, has been awarded the LEED Core and Shell Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).  Rick Fedrizzi, the President, CEO and Founding Chairman of the USGBC, the organization responsible for the LEED program, presented the LEED Core and Shell Gold Certification plaque to The Mosites Company at Borders Books, the anchor tenant in the building, on March 4, 2008.  This is the second building at Eastside to be LEED certified.
