Angel Marschik, a commercial lender at the CL Fund, was recently honored with the prestigious 2006 U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Champion Award during the annual Western Pennsylvania Association of SBA Guaranteed Lenders (WPASGL) Small Business Lending Conference in Seven Springs, Pa.

 A strong SBA supporter and “champion” of its programs, Ms. Marschik was recognized for her concerted efforts to promote awareness of the SBA’s 504 program, which fosters economic development and job creation. 
Ms. Marschik also played a vital role in maintaining CL 504’s position as the most active SBA certified development company in western Pennsylvania for the third year in a row.    

“We’re very proud of Angel’s accomplishments,” said Mark Peterson, President of CL Fund.  “As a true representative of the high standards with which we operate, Angel deserves this recognition.”

Presenting the award was Stephanie Watkins, SBA Regional Administrator, Region III; and Carl Knoblock, District Director, SBA Pittsburgh District Office; at an event attended by 300 lenders and resource partners across the Mid-Atlantic region.    

Created by the Pittsburgh District Office in 1998, the SBA Champion Award honors an individual who promotes SBA loan programs and services at an extraordinary level.  By learning the parameters of the SBA loan programs, utilizing that knowledge to assist small business owners, and working diligently with the local SBA office, the individual helps facilitate the accomplishment of the SBA’s various loan goals.
