North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO) was founded in 1987 after people in the communities of northern Allegheny County mobilized to help local flood victims. NHCO charges no fees for its services, which include food pantries, support groups, employment training and transportation. In 2005-06, NHCO assisted 6,331 families in need toward stability and self-sufficiency by providing $837,332 in funds, goods and services.
